Garden Plus X'mas bazaar

I'm beginning to see some familiar faces at Garden Plus' flea market. Lantau Buffalo Association's Ho Loy is one of them. She's wearing their new T-shirt here.

Sorry the photos are a bit skimpy. I was too busy trying to reduce the huge pile of stuff we had brought in for sale.

Didn't even have time to do some shopping myself... which may not have been a bad thing in retrospect.

THE flea market to go to

A scorcher of an October day and a record number of stalls at the flea market.

Wish I had bought Kathy's umbrella.

With so many people here, I wonder how the other two events in Mui Wo that day -- the kai to consultation meeting and the farmer's market -- went?

Flea market at Garden Plus

Sorry for the pathetic number of photos. For the first time, I was a seller so I actually had to stay in my stall to make sure I got enough money to spend.

 

It was great fun. Good atmosphere and a great mix of stuff on sale.

Even Buffalo Wilbur was hooked. I thought he'd get bored after an hour or so but he stayed with me till the end. Can we have more please?

GardenPlus market

Sorry I haven't been updating the blog recently. Have had a lot of things happening on the family front so haven't had the heart to blog.

But anyway, there's a marvellous new Facebook page that has all the current events, news, gossip etc on Mui Wo and its surroundings. It's a closed group but the admins are very nice people and will let you in if you ask politely.

I've been getting most of my news from there... ever since we lost Lantau Linker Diane Stormont. :(

BBQ dance party

Sounds fun. I like the "partners optional" bit. Hyuk hyuk.

Organic farm

I learnt a new phrase during the Japan tsunami: agricultural polytunnels. And we spotted what looked like some outside Luk Tei Tong recently.

Turns out it was Mabel's Roselle Garden, which sells organic produce.

Mabel wasn't in when we passed by but we'll be back in hopes of snaring those really fresh greens.

The frustrated gardener

We love our tiny seaview flat. But my one regret is that we have no outdoor space to grow plants.

My poor basil is reduced to poking its head out of the kitchen window for more growth space and Buffalo Wilbur is always rescuing the pot on the sill that topples at the slightest breeze.

But that doesn't stop me from wanting more plants. So the last time we passed Garden Plus in Pui O on the bus, I told Buffalo Wilbur we have to check it out.

It has stuff I absolutely salivate over... I want these grass sods for my imaginary roof.

And don't the chillies look lovely?

Buffalo Wilbur banned me from buying anything because he doesn't want to rescue yet another pot from the window sill. I need an allotment. Sigh...
