Clams by the bushel

The first sunny day in the week and the clam diggers are out in full force in the beach.

I've always been curious as to what they're digging up. This one seems to grab anything, even barnacles.

But this person seems more selective.

Photos of "old" Mui Wo

Wonderful post and photos of Mui Wo in the 1990s by former Mui Wo resident Steve Mitchell here.

Compare it to Mui Wo now.

Steve makes the rain sound so romantic that I actually feel nostalgic for a wet Mui Wo day – even though it is a wet grey day as I write this.

First DB flea market in 2012

PALS' booth. Missed seeing Jacqui there though.

It was really hot!

Next one's on June 3.

Camping weather

After months of seeing a deserted Pui O beach, it was a pleasant surprise to see the tents sprouting up again.

Scenes from the ferry

One good thing about getting on the slow ferry home is you get some really nice touristy photos from a different angle.

Easter egg hunt in Pui O

Want to win a remote-control helicopter? The egg hunt at Pui O Dreams (behind the garden centre in Pui O) is on today and tomorrow.

Happy egg hunting grounds?

They're also selling popcorn, candy floss, wines and organic teas... pity the food and drinks weren't ready when we were there.

Organic farm

I learnt a new phrase during the Japan tsunami: agricultural polytunnels. And we spotted what looked like some outside Luk Tei Tong recently.

Turns out it was Mabel's Roselle Garden, which sells organic produce.

Mabel wasn't in when we passed by but we'll be back in hopes of snaring those really fresh greens.

Loo with a view

I know Hong Kong is short of space but surely this is taking space saving a bit too far?

Mui Wo School open day

Cute kids and proud parents.

And a school mascot.
