Lantau Taste is offering yummy hotpots that are perfect for this weather. This is the curry chicken hotpot (HK$88), which comes with pretty lethal Sichuan peppers.
The lamb hotpot (HK$128) is the best of the four choices, I think. Lots of mushrooms and water chestnuts.

Curry in a hurry
My friend kept raving about the curry at Lantau Taste so I dragged Buffalo Wilbur there over the weekend to try it out. He had the chicken curry.
I had the beef brisket curry. Yes, I know. You can't tell the difference. I'm sure they use the same base, just ringing in the changes by adding the different meats.
The verdict? It was okay, like a cross between Japanese and Southeast Asian curry. I liked it but Buffalo Wilbur says he will stick to their roasted meats. It was good value, though: HK$43 for curry, rice, drink and soup.

Lantau Taste opens
Lantau Taste has opened at the site of the short-lived Brazilian restaurant. It had been the target of much speculation before the sign went up.
It specialises in "Hong Kong food," says the owners. Which basically means roasted meats and snacks like curry fishballs.
One-plate meals (meat of your choice, rice, veg and soup) cost about HK$40ish. The roast goose costs more but is super tasty.
You know the place is good when locals start crowding on the very first day. Spot the ferry crew.
